What is it?
The LM-79-08 Specification describes the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) approved method for measuring the Electrical and Photometric levels of Solid-State Lighting. It is based on tests that will measure an LED luminaire or integral lamp as a whole system according to a standard process, using specific measurement equipment.
Who can perform testing?
Testing of the LM-79-08 should be performed by EPA Recognized Laboratories for the category of product tested as only reports from EPA recognized laboratories meet the standard set by the Department of Energy (DOE). This standard is used by the DOE for the ENERGY STAR program qualification and lighting facts advocate program. All Hyperikon product testing is performed in accordance with the LM-79-08 Specification in EPA recognized laboratories and reports are available upon request.
